CIRT NATIONAL DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION COMPETITION

Playground

Submission Deadline: March 14, 2019

The 2019 CIRT National Design & Construction Competition invites ACE Mentor Affiliate teams (student and mentors) from across the country to design solutions for one of three challenges: a playground or playscape, alleviate urban transportation congestion, and a community health clinic.

The competition is maintained, coordinated and juried by the Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT), in coordination with ACE Mentor National and the Chicago Architecture Center. The 2019 theme celebrates the innovations and contributions the design and construction community make to the quality of American life, while understanding the issues and challenges the industry faces to deliver on this legacy.

NEWHOUSE ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN COMPETITION

The Chicago Architecture Center is proud to announce the 37th annual Newhouse Architecture + Design Competition! This program showcases the talents of Chicago-area youth. Through this competition we inspire teens to understand why design matters by researching, representing, and redesigning the built environment to solve challenges that are personal and place-based.

This year's categories include Advanced Architecture: Dragon Boat Racing Facility, Digital Modeling: Chicago Bungalow, Physical Modeling: Chicago Bungalow, Industrial Design: African American Heritage Water Trail, Fine Arts: Building Identity Self-Portrait, Graphic Design: Open House Chicago Bus Shelter Poster, and Photography: Architectural Photo Essay.
