Just in time for our 2016 National Design Competition, the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) is excited to unveil the new DiscoverDesign.org, an online platform where students and teachers come together to design solutions for real-world challenges. CAF and design partner Caxy Code Creative spent the past year getting ideas and feedback from students, teachers and mentors to make DiscoverDesign a cutting edge tool for design education.
CAF originally launched DiscoverDesign.org in 2012 which created an online community for students to solve design problems, share ideas and get feedback on their work from teachers, students and professionals from around the world. Thanks to generous support from IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) and the HIVE Chicago Fund for Connected Learning, the updated platform is now easier to navigate with lots of new features for all users. Students can curate their own portfolios and teachers can create their own design challenges and modify existing ones.
